Amaretto Breedables and Southern Tier Healthlink have joined forces to create these stunning Sakura Blossom horses for Japan relief efforts.
To quote the Amaretto press release:
"The Sakura Tree: Strong, elegant, enduring, and beautiful. It overcomes the seasons, triumphing with its branches held proudly, pulling through and blossoming once more.
We at Amaretto have decided that it was only fitting to combine the aspects of the Sakura Tree with the merits of the horse, powerful, strong willed, and graceful, in an effort to raise funds towards the relief effort for the recent events in Japan. Together we can help the victims of this terrible disaster blossom again."
Horses are available in black and white versions with either Life Green Sakura or Passion Pink Sakura eyes. Each box sells for $1111L (for March 11, 2011, when the earthquake struck Japan) and is a random buy. That means you won't know whether you're getting a black, white, male, female or pink or green eye until you birth the horse. All proceeds go to AmeriCares, a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization which provides immediate response to emergency medical needs around the world.
The bundle looks like this:
And here's a close-up of the gorgeous eye:
Although these horses can't pass their coats on to their offspring, they CAN pass on the eyes.
Each box also includes a special-edition breeder's food that looks like a sushi platter, another copy of the sushi platter that's not edible, and a certificate to display.
These horses are available until Friday, March 25. As with almost all deadlines in SL, I have no idea whether this means until the beginning of the day or the end of the day, so if you're going to buy one, I'd make sure you snag one by Thursday just to be safe.
