All together now . . .

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Must. Resist. Meeroos.

I saw these things hopping around Sineads Breedables the other day. I thought they were finally for sale, but they're still in closed beta testing. I might be too damn exhausted (and broke) to venture into the wonderful world of Meeroos, frankly. If I put as much time and energy into my own sex life as I do into that of fake animals, I'd probably be pretty orgasmic all damn day.

In other news, Wildwood Breedables announced yesterday that a 1.4 update is in the works. They say more than 40 new pelts will be introduced, along with a bunch of new eyes. I can't even imagine 40 new pelts. If you held a gun to my head and said, "Think of 40 new cat pelts," I would probably get to about 15 and then start crying.

Well, hell.

Sadly, I sent approximately half my Wildwoods to "Cat Sanctuary" the other day. I'm running out of both the prim allowance and the lindens to keep them alive. Rare cats that once sold for thousands of lindens won't even sell for 25L anymore. So in that respect, I'm glad Wildwood is finally reviving the market with new traits and pelts. I'm not thrilled at the prospect of buying new starter packs though, but whatever.

I also like the fact that Wildwood took the time to at least make the Cat Sanctuary Totem of Doom look noble, particularly since I'll probably have to send even more of mine there to make room for new ones:

"It will then make your cat disappear and head off for the Cat Sanctuary to live the rest of its days with the Cat Sanctuary Guardian Seph."

I feel much better about this lovely, euphemistic way of deleting them now. Rock on with that, Seph!

Those are my deep thoughts on the matter. Now you can get out there and embrace your day with joy and relief.

The eyes have it

I like the dual-colored Odyssey eyes that some of the KittyCatS have:

I especially like the fact that I don't have to do anything sick and twisted to get them, like make a brother and sister have sex with each other.

The only thing that bugs me about them is the KittyCatS' spelling: Odessey.

I refuse to spell it that way. It hurts my eyes.

(Now watch - someone's going to tell me they're spelled that way because it was the name of someone's dead grandmother or something and then I'm going to feel like the world's biggest non-breedable ass.)

See all the colors of the KittyCatS' eyes here: CLICK THIS.

As long as we're on the subject of the extent to which my fifth-grade English teacher might kick my KittyCatS' little kitty booties -- or at least whack their paws with a ruler -- whenever I feed one of mine a bottle of Love5 Vitamins, I get the message "Your kitty eated the whole bottle in one gulp!" - or something similar to that. The key word here is "eated."

NO.

On behalf of all the cats out there with excellent grammar, I protest.

And one more thing!

Just because you own some KittyCatS doesn't mean you are also required to talk baby talk in the group chat.

"Ish good kitty?"

QUIT IT.

(I said that with love though! Yes I did!)

That particular red tabby up there is for sale in Emerald's Magical Cat House. He's got a Mysterious tail and Curious ears. (For those unfamiliar with KittyCatS jargon, those are traits.) Right now I'm selling him for 3500L. Is that too much? I have no clue. If it is, let me know. I get overly excited when my cats give birth to anything besides a Domino or Coco with Earth eyes. At last count, I had 8 million of those.

So yeah, he's a little looker. He speaks excellent grammar too.

#FML

So, a while ago on my other blog, I blogged about my quest for an Amaretto Breedables unicorn, which pretty much sucked me into the whole Amaretto Breedables thing . . . and now I have what seems like (and costs like) about 19,000 horses on three different plots of farm-zoned land.

Woo.

So I joined the Amaretto Breedables group, and that's been kind of a rollercoaster ride, particularly because at first I accidentally joined the multicultural group. Not many people were speaking English in there. And like an idiot, I actually sat there for about three days thinking, "Damn, the Amaretto breeders are REALLY MULTILINGUAL!"

Then I got a clue and joined the English-speaking group. I don't talk much in it though. You guys seem kind of tight in there. I'm scared. Not only that, there's a lot of heated discussion going on that usually transforms me into a silent fascinated lurker. For instance, I believe the discussion this morning was the sorry state of American healthcare. I'm being serious. I wanted to at least throw in a "neigh!" or a "whinny!" or a couple of hoof stomps in an attempt to get us back on a horse track (pardon the pun), but I was shy.

That was a long damn way of saying that I really haven't been paying much attention to actual horse developments. I did hear that we have new traits now - HALLELUJAH! - so I diligently trotted over to the Amaretto Ranch Main Store and bought two new starter packs.

I had heard that one new trait is a braided mane and/or tail. Unfortunately right now I pretty much fall into the "ignorant horse breeder" category. When I heard that the new horses could have braided hair, I figured it would be a somewhat regular occurrence - like an upright tail or low hair luster or whatever. So when two of my starters immediately threw a horse with a braided mane, I thought, "Ah, so that's what it looks like" and put it up for sale at the very optimistic price of 9000L, just to push my luck and feel kind of special.

I'm not kidding you, someone bought that horse in a record-breaking 10 minutes.

Later, I saw a similar horse at an auction. It looked exactly like the one I sold. Hell, maybe it even WAS the one I sold.

The final bid on it was 25000L.

/FACEPALM

Wow. I had no idea.

I'm mourning it now. I put its parents together in a special romantic place and I'm sitting around hoping they'll throw another one. Of course by then, braided manes will probably be everywhere. Sigh.

I've never sold anything for 25000L before. And unless my horses birth some kind of charmed mythical snake-maned, spiked-tail, scaled green Medusa horse or something, I probably just lost my one chance. *sniff*

Oh well.

I'm bummed that I didn't even take a picture of my stupid braided-mane horse. So I tried to draw one:

Yeah. That looks exactly like it.

Sakura Blossoms for Japan

Amaretto Breedables and Southern Tier Healthlink have joined forces to create these stunning Sakura Blossom horses for Japan relief efforts.

To quote the Amaretto press release:

"The Sakura Tree: Strong, elegant, enduring, and beautiful. It overcomes the seasons, triumphing with its branches held proudly, pulling through and blossoming once more.
We at Amaretto have decided that it was only fitting to combine the aspects of the Sakura Tree with the merits of the horse, powerful, strong willed, and graceful, in an effort to raise funds towards the relief effort for the recent events in Japan. Together we can help the victims of this terrible disaster blossom again."

Horses are available in black and white versions with either Life Green Sakura or Passion Pink Sakura eyes. Each box sells for $1111L (for March 11, 2011, when the earthquake struck Japan) and is a random buy. That means you won't know whether you're getting a black, white, male, female or pink or green eye until you birth the horse. All proceeds go to AmeriCares, a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization which provides immediate response to emergency medical needs around the world.

The bundle looks like this:

And here's a close-up of the gorgeous eye:

Although these horses can't pass their coats on to their offspring, they CAN pass on the eyes.

Each box also includes a special-edition breeder's food that looks like a sushi platter, another copy of the sushi platter that's not edible, and a certificate to display.

These horses are available until Friday, March 25. As with almost all deadlines in SL, I have no idea whether this means until the beginning of the day or the end of the day, so if you're going to buy one, I'd make sure you snag one by Thursday just to be safe.

Get one at any Amaretto Ranch location. Here are a couple that are relatively lag free:

DOH! Dodos?

First I mocked them.

Then I signed up to be a Beta tester.

The beta testing group currently has open enrollment. Be warned that the group tag is "I ♥ Breeding!" which may lead to public mockery. Testing should begin in a couple of weeks.

Woof, there it is

So, apparently Amarettos will be offering its own line of breedable dogs soon.

FOOK YES! They look like they jumped right out of a Disney cartoon!

Cartoon doggies with captivating trait possibilities? Traits that — GASP! — dog breeders might actually have a chance at breeding? Sign me up!

Thank God. I'm kissing my Biobreeds goodbye. It'll be sad not having my rows and rows (and rows and rows) of crates of tan, brown-eyed labs and pugs around though.

I'll get over it.

Every crate in my Biobreeds dog stand has been marked down to 10L. Knock yourselves out!
